A Veterans Day Message From Bill Parker, CEO

Last year was the 100th Anniversary of the ending of the Great War, the War to end all Wars, that later became known as WWI. For years, in recognition of the war’s end and treaty signing on November 11, we celebrated Armistice Day. Beginning in 1938, the name was changed to Veterans Day as a way to honor and thank the many men and women in all branches of our military, particularly living veterans, who have willingly sacrificed to protect our freedom.

And every year, I find this federal holiday even more meaningful. As a veteran of the U.S. Army, I have tremendous respect for the 20 million military veterans and tens of thousands of active duty personnel who are deployed in more than 150 countries around the world. These men and women are patriots and heroes, spending months away from their loved ones while they defend our democracy. We owe each of them – and the families who love and sustain them throughout their training, deployment and return to civilian life – our profound gratitude.

As we commemorate Veterans Day 2019, I am reminded of my years of service and the dedicated people I served with. I’m proud that today LeaflLine Labs provides the highest quality medical cannabis and care to Minnesota veterans.

One of the most quoted poems about WWI is "In Flanders Fields" written by Canadian physician Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae. In it, McCrae references poppies which have become the symbol of those fallen in war and serves as a reminder that freedom and choice are not without cost.

Please join me and the entire LeafLine Labs team in thanking our veterans and military for their service and sacrifice. Their commitment and courage have given the rest of us the invaluable gift of living in relative peace, security, freedom and prosperity.

Thank you, Minnesota veterans and active military. Today – and every day - we honor and remember you.
