IBD & Crohn’s

The anti-inflammatory properties of medical cannabis can sometimes help reduce the severity and length of symptoms for those suffering from this disease.

Symptoms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) can include abdominal pain, diarrhea, rectal bleeding, weight loss and fever. Two-thirds to three-quarters of patients with Crohn’s disease will require surgery at some point during their lives. Medical cannabis can offer relief to patients who do not respond or are resistant to conventional IBD treatment.

How cannabis may help with IBD & Crohn’s:

  • Preliminary studies have shown that medical cannabis can possibly increase muscle tone in the airway, resulting in less interruptions of sleep and higher quality of life for patients with obstructive sleep apnea.
